Personalization
Why is the lettering upside down?
Because parenthood turns your whole world upside down—in the best, hardest and most meaningful ways. It’s a small reminder that the days can feel long, but the years go by fast.
How do I personalize my hat?
Choose the available personalization options on the product page and enter your text exactly as you would like it embroidered. Options vary by hat and may include a custom title, children’s names and an established date.
Where will the names be embroidered?
The location will be shown when you personalize your hat. Names are typically embroidered on the left side panel, but placement varies depending on the hat.
Can I add more than one name?
Yes. Most hats can accommodate up to four names per side. Please note that the embroidery may become smaller when three or more names are added so everything fits neatly.
Can I customize both sides of the hat?
Customization areas vary by hat. Some styles allow names or other details on both sides, while others have fewer available locations.

Can I add a date to the back?
Some of our hats offer an established date on the back. If it’s available for your chosen style, you’ll see the option on the product page.
How should I enter names and dates?
Enter names exactly as you would like them to appear, listed from top to bottom. When four names are added, we may adjust their order or arrangement slightly to achieve the best fit.
For established dates, simply enter the date using numbers. We’ll add “EST.” and convert the date into Roman numerals where shown on the product page.
Please double-check all spelling and dates before submitting your order.
Will I receive a proof before my hat is made?
No. To help us make and ship orders quickly, we don’t send proofs before production. Please carefully review all names, dates and spelling before placing your order.
Can I change my personalization after ordering?
Email info@slowdaysfastyears.co as soon as possible with your order number and the requested change. We’ll do our best to update it, but because orders move into production quickly, changes aren’t guaranteed.
Hat Styles and Fit
Are the hats one size fits most?
Yes. Our current hats are adult-sized snapbacks with adjustable closures. They fit head circumferences of approximately 21⅝″–23⅝″.
Youth sizes are not currently available.
What style of hat should I choose?
Each product page includes details about that hat’s profile, shape, brim and materials. For a bolder, more structured fit, choose one of our classic high-profile snapbacks. For a slightly more relaxed, everyday look, explore our mid-profile and rope styles.

Is SDFY only for dads?
Not at all. SDFY celebrates parenthood and the people making memories in the middle of its beautiful chaos.
Many hats offer custom title options, so you can create something for DADA, DAD, MAMA, MOM, POPS, PAPA, GAMMY, GRAMPS or another title that belongs to your family.
Production and Shipping
How long does personalization take?
Each hat is personalized to order. Our current production time is 2–5 business days before shipping.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the United States only.
How long does shipping take?
Once your order has been made and shipped, delivery within the United States typically takes an additional 2–5 business days.
Production and shipping estimates are separate, so most orders should arrive approximately 5–10 business days after being placed. Carrier delays may occasionally affect delivery times.
Returns and Order Issues
Can personalized hats be returned or exchanged?
Because each hat is made specifically for you, personalized items cannot be returned or exchanged unless there is a production error or an issue with the product.
Please carefully check all names, dates and other personalization before submitting your order.
What if I entered a name or date incorrectly?
Contact us at info@slowdaysfastyears.co as soon as possible. If your order hasn’t entered production, we may be able to change it, but changes are not guaranteed.
We cannot replace or refund products that were made correctly using the information submitted with the order.
What if there is a mistake or problem with my order?
If we made a production error or your order arrived with an issue, we’ll make it right.
Email info@slowdaysfastyears.co with your order number and a clear photo of the problem. Once confirmed, we’ll correct the order and send a replacement at no additional cost.
Hat Care
How should I clean my hat?
Hand-wash your hat in cool water using a small amount of mild detergent. Avoid machine washing or drying. Gently reshape the hat while it’s damp and allow it to air-dry.
